Reporting to a Director, Corporate Special Projects, the Project Advisor (Communications) will support the planning, organizing and delivery of agency projects, with a focus on communications-related initiatives. Efficient completion of project deliverables, effective quality control and clear communication with stakeholders, along with regular reporting to management, are critical tasks that will be required throughout each project’s lifecycle.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Supports communications-related tasks related to internal and external projects.
- Takes responsibility for updating organizational communications products, including brochures, newsletters, website and intranet site.
- Develops, writes and edits content and messages for internal and external audiences.
- Supports projects generally, including coordination, scheduling, documentation and other factors necessary for success.
- Ensures all required resources, including information, are readily available to support project-related decision making.
- Documents project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and micro-deliverables using the appropriate software tools and/or methods;
- Ensures that proper and complete project documentation is completed in a timely manner,
- Schedules, co-ordinates and participates in sector events and working group meetings (may take minutes).
- Post-secondary education related to public relations, communications, journalism, and any fields related to editing and writing
- Project management or equivalent experience is an asset

**Key skills and abilities we are looking for**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional and senior management.
- Extremely well-organized and motivated with the proven ability to multi-task.
- Familiarity and experience with content management systems (e.g. WordPress, SharePoint), analytics software (e.g. Google analytics), graphic design programs (e.g. Adobe InDesign) and editing software is a strong asset. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher) is essential.
- Familiar with teleconferencing platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Able to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentations.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Able to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.

**Special Requirements**:

- Criminal background check
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including, evenings as required.
