**SUMMARY - **_Credit and Cash Applications Specialist_**

**_ Shift:_** Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm

TransX has an exciting opportunity for a Credit and Cash Applications Specialist to join our Finance Department in our Winnipeg Head Office. This is an entry level position, reporting to the Director of Accounts Receivable & Cash Applications.

**KEY ACTIVITIES**

**Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Responsible for posting accurately all incoming deposits in CAD and USD funds
- Responsible to monitor bank statements and provide/assist cash app team with remittance/backup for posting purposes.
- Escalate issues which cannot be resolved to leadership team
- Responsible for credit reference check/review through outside evaluation firms as our main source of credit evaluation
- Established and recommend credit decision/limit depending on the result for t an approval from Accounts Receivable Director.
- Responsible for setting up new and or closing of billing accounts in software systems, including, but limited to setting up invoicing/paperwork requirements
- Daily monitoring of Customer transfer to Great Plains
- Managing the DAWG alerts for inactive accounts, responsible to ensure all inactive accounts are closed in software systems.
- Manage credit alerts for potential risk customers and notify Director/ Analysts
- Participates on special requests as required
- Provide quality, professional customer service to internal/external customers
- Independently execute assigned task on day to day basis
- Prioritize and determine course of action to resolve issues
- Determine who should be contacted to update/obtain further information
- Credit decisions executed with criteria given to make sounds business decisions

**SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE**

**_ Education_**
- Grade 12 - Required
- Certified Credit Professional Program and/or other accounting programs - Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or accounting - Preferred

**_ Experience_**
- Experience in trucking and transportation or related field - Preferred
- Experience with Credit review/processing - Preferred
- Knowledge of Great Plains and TMW - Preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Action oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time.
- Intermediate or higher skill using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and banking procedures
- Strong math, accounting and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work within tight deadlines
- Proficient with data entry using a 10 key numeric keypad
- Motivated and conscientious team player capable of working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
