Woodbridge, Canada Starboard Transport Inc. Full time

Key Responsibilities:

- Process and maintain financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and issue invoices to clients, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, statements, and budgets.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including following up on overdue accounts and coordinating with the collections department.
- Assist with payroll processing and related accounting tasks.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Maintain and update inventory records and assist with inventory reconciliation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary journal entries and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the logistics and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting of transportation activities.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax documents and other regulatory reports.
- Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and logistics-related financial processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to logistics and transportation accounting is a plus.
