- The City is making a transformational cultural shift on how we approach Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). As a Corporate Worker's Compensation Board (WCB) Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing specialized knowledge, consultation, and services related to occupational illnesses and injuries. You will coordinate with employees, supervisors, managers, and WCB to ensure that employee injury events are investigated to determine whether it meets the legislative threshold to be reported to WCB and follow the adjudication and claim management process to ensure all employees receive that which they are entitled to. Primary duties include:

- Complete objective initial incident investigations, including interviews with employees, supervisors, and management to determine if reporting to WCB is required. Initiate and manage WCB claims for employees.
- Review documentation to ensure the appropriate claim management steps have been taken.
- Assess WCB decisions to determine if appropriate information has been considered or gathered in making entitlement decisions.
- Determine and report appropriate/precise employee earnings to WCB.
- Communicate information about all claims that result in lost time or the need for accommodation to the appropriate Ability Advisor through case creation and maintenance through the applicable software.
- Act as the Corporate Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide education, support, coaching, and training for all partners regarding the incident reporting process, policies, applicable legislation including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act, and associated programs.
- Complete and update numerous multidisciplinary reports on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis that have high impact on the corporation and our employees both financially and statistically, accurately and within time parameters.

**Qualifications**
- A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) and courses in areas such as business, administration, communications, or a related field. Course work in medical terminology is also required.
- At least 5 years of experience including working in customer service, with legislation, and in a large multi-jurisdictional organization, including at least one year of experience with WCB, specifically as an adjudicator, case manager, or having responsibility for WCB claims management.
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Familiarity and knowledge of WCB policy and legislation is required.
- The ability to analyze large amounts of information and prepare detailed reports.
- Experience with software programs such as PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM), PeopleSoft HR Help Desk (HRHD), Cority, Nikalogic, myWCB employer software, and records retrieval will be considered assets.
- Knowledge of health and safety programs and services will be considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication, decision making and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, time management and the ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- A demonstrated high level of integrity and respect when dealing with confidential issues.
