Public Works Labourer

We are seeking a Labourer to join our team. As a Labourer, you will be responsible for performing various tasks to assist with Public Works operations.

This is a temporary / seasonal maintenance position. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Grounds maintenance (mowing, raking, trimming)
- Rec facility maintenance (lining fields, setting up sports equipment)
- General cleaning (sweeping, garbage collection, dog waste bins, washing equipment)
- Shop duties as assigned by the supervisor (e.g. general equipment maintenance, painting, lubing equipment etc.)
- Visual equipment checks

**Requirements**:

- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must have reliable transportation to job sites and posses drivers license.

Other assets: public works experience, experience driving tractors and mowers, using trimmers and other tools.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 16 weeks

**Salary**: $15.70 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Port Williams, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- English (required)
