The Property Tax Policy Branch is looking for specialists with training and experience in legal, government administration and/or policy. The staff who fill these roles will join our growing team of professionals, who work on complex legislative matters and specialize in providing both written and verbal advice to stakeholders regarding Ontario's property tax system.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: You will:

- Prepare written and verbal interpretations and advice on property tax-related matters to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Research and contribute to the review and development of communication and program administration materials
- Identify problems and inconsistencies/deficiencies in existing legislation or property tax policies
- Provide information and advice on property taxation issues to Ministry staff and provide support to Senior Specialists
- Interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including municipalities, other governments and jurisdictions, with the purpose of building relationships, reconciling divergent viewpoints and enhancing cooperation to support the Ontario property tax system

**How do I qualify?**:
**Communication Skills**:

- You demonstrate oral and written communication skills to discuss issues with external stakeholders and prepare written interpretative opinions, responses, reports, correspondence, etc.
- You can explain legislative and related property tax matters to other tax administration staff.

**Technical Knowledge and Skills**:
**Research, Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills**:

- You demonstrate skills to conduct research into various legislative and related property tax issues and cases.
- You have analytical skills to develop recommendations for legislative and/or administrative procedures, interpretations/opinions and provide advice.
- You can evaluate financial information to develop interpretations/opinions.

**Organizational and Teamwork Skills**:

- You demonstrate organizational skills to identify and manage workloads, balance conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
- You can collaborate with managers, peers and ministry clients to organize workload, discuss and resolve issues, and share knowledge and information.
