Variety Village is seeking several qualified Lifeguards to join our team of talented staff._

**Summary**:
Area Coverage Attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety of our members while exercising in the following rooms: cardio area, general fieldhouse (track, basketball courts, etc.,), and the weight room. They are also responsible for checking equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and answering/interacting with members or clients. The Attendant role is also responsible for monitoring members to ensure Variety policies and protocols are being followed.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Overseeing the safety of members using the cardio area, fieldhouse or weight room;
- Ensuring the appropriate use of equipment to minimize potential injury;
- Ensure accessibility by assisting members with special needs with equipment use;
- Participating in training, including but not limited to Health & Safety, Covid-19, the Plan to Protect and AODA;
- Attending In-Service training sessions throughout the year;
- Adhering to Variety Village policies and procedures;
- Completing and submitting incident reports on an as needed basis;
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Key Competencies**:

- Minimum age of 15 years old;
- A valid certification in Standard First Aid - CPR C, AED and Airway management is an asset;
- Experience and/or education in recreation, sports, physical education or education an asset;
- Strong problem solving and communication skills;
- Ability to complete tasks as delegated, complete administrative duties, and strong organization skills.
- Available to work a flexible schedule;
- Effective working with mínimal supervision.
