**POSITION: Payroll Clerk**

**UNIT: Payroll**

**STATUS: Full Time**

**SALARY: $24.63 - $27.40**

**Position Description**:
Reporting to the Manager of Payroll Services, the **Payroll Clerk** will process the bi-weekly Hospital payroll for approximately 1100 employees. This includes, importing hours from the Time and Attendance system, preparing transaction files, data entry and preparing payment for payroll remittances.

**Skills & Qualifications Required**:

- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or equivalent program
- Completion of Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification through the National Payroll Institute required (must be willing to obtain)
- Minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience preferred;
- Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of current provincial and federal legislation related to the Payroll function;
- Must possess a high level of accuracy and excellent data entry skills;
- Basic understanding of group benefit plans and the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP);
- Excellent organizational, adaptability and time management skills in order to prioritize work, juggle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service along with interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to complete assigned duties with mínimal supervision
- Previous experience with Virtuo Payroll (MediSolution) a definite asset;
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions and changing demands;
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), crystal reports and HRIS systems;
- Excellent attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Program
- Demonstrated acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH's Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct
