For over 20 years, Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH), Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH), Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) and Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) have been in partnership sharing a single Health Information System (HIS) - Meditech. This group has come to be known as the “Regional ITS Partnership”. With the implementation of Meditech Expanse, RVH has been identified by the partnership as the Lead agency providing regional Meditech support and some other key services. The primary purpose of this partnership of the four hospitals is to improve patient safety and quality of care by promoting and maintaining a one patient, one record vision in our single shared HIS. The Regional ITS Partnership has identified information and technology as key pillar to support a safe and efficient patient experience while driving clinical excellence. We are excited to further expand our team to continue the ongoing support.

As the **Part-Time Temporary Drug Dictionary Review Technician**, you will report to the Manager of Clinical Informatics. You are an integral member of the CARE4 Informatics and Technology Services (ITS) division as well as the Regional Pharmacy Team. In this role, you will collaborate with other members of the Regional Pharmacy Team to collectively complete a comprehensive review of the entire drug dictionary in Meditech Expanse. This work will involve ensuring consistent and safe entries are completed which will allow all medications to flow through the pharmacy automation and technology at each site accurately. This will also involve testing to ensure accuracy of pharmacy inventory and finance systems.

This challenging position seeks an individual who is self-directed, analytical, and organized to fill the role of Drug Dictionary Review Technician. This role involves working closely with the regional pharmacy departments to determine needs and the facilitation of effective solutions that are consistent with organizational goals and objectives.

**Qualifications**:

- Registered Pharmacy Technician, in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Knowledge and understanding of technical rotations and distribution systems
- Good understanding of pharmacy automation systems including automated dispensing units, packagers, high density inventory systems and robots
- Good understanding of medication inventory processes and procedures
- Experience with bedside medication verification and barcode scanning
- Application development and clinical support experience an asset
- Experience with Meditech modules related to pharmacy; experience developing in MEDITECH Expanse an asset.
- Experience with analyzing data to identify trends, gaps and information that can drive positive change.
- Good understanding of Medication Management Standards from Accreditation Canada, Ontario College of Pharmacists and Institute of Safe Medication Practices
