This position is for the Cancer Program reporting to the Regional Vice-President. The Coordinator will monitor and coordinate regional cancer program strategy indicators and operational issues to determine care gaps or improvement opportunities to improve patient accessibility, care quality, coordination and standardization of cancer care or related services across the region. The coordinator will facilitate continued progress to improved cancer care in the region by engaging and working with leadership and frontline from The Ottawa Hospital, regional hospitals, organizations, or community practices involved in cancer care.

Areas of responsibility include day-to-day operations as well as strategic planning of the Vice-President’s office, facilitation and organization of regional communities of practice, multidisciplinary case conferences, and identifying system problems, making recommendations for improvement, developing work plans and coordinating regional activities as identified by these committees. The Coordinator will support Cancer Program administrators, clinicians, staff and patients and families across Champlain Regional Cancer Program in working together to advance efforts aligned to the current Ontario and Champlain Regional Cancer Plan.

**Rotation/Shifts**:
Days, 8 hour shifts.

**Basic Requirements**:

- Undergraduate degree in a business or healthrelated discipline;
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience working in a health care environment;
- Knowledge of hospital organization and health care delivery systems;
- Knowledge of clinical care guidelines and best practices;
- Demonstrated previous project management experience;
- Demonstrated previous experience with quality improvement initiatives;
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and methods;
- Strong understanding of Process Improvement Methods;
- Ability to lead and motivate people to embrace quality improvement philosophy and management;
- Self directed and works independently;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational, planning, coordinating and project management skills;
- Proficient statistical analysis skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, ability to balance multiple priorities;
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report generation and graphics presentation;
- Knowledgeable about Standards of Health Services Accreditation;
- Proficiency with use of audiovisual equipment.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Master of Health Administration;
- Certified Health Executive designation;
- Masters in a health-related discipline;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
