**The position**:
The Traffic Technician Supervisor’s main objective is to guide and teach others in order to maintain a safe work zone that ensures that traffic does not interfere with the work of crew members. They must specialize in the technical aspects of studying and controlling vehicle traffic.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review traffic management plans if applicable (TMP’s) and set-up site as per plan or MTO Book 7 regulations
- Maintain or stop the flow of traffic so that all stakeholders impacted by the site are safe (crew members, motorists, pedestrians, etc.)
- Provides strategic coordination of all lane closure activities in order to meet customer demands and resolve issues
- Conducts hazard assessment with team and customers as required and completes respective paperwork
- Provides guidance and supervision over crew members to ensure that lane closures are properly and safely installed
- Complete teardown of sites once work has been completed
- Maintain a safety awareness and work in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and policies
- Completes all required paperwork for each job and ensure that it is not only properly completed (e.g. legible, all information is recorded) but also submitted daily

**Qualifications**:

- 1 year or more Traffic Control experience
- G class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Good communication skills to be able to give motorists & pedestrians simple directions, explain hazards, and answer questions
- An appreciation and understanding of road safety
- Able to calmly troubleshoot issues and collaborate with a diverse group of people
- Ability to use a smartphone and enter data using computerized mobile devices
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- You will be required to provide your own CSA Grade 1 (green label) work boots with a minimum 6 inch cuff and electrical shock resistance (white label with omega symbol)
- Willing to drive out of town as this position covers all of Northern Ontario
