Since 1995, Hospice Vaughan, a not-for-profit organization, has been helping people with life-limiting illnesses live fully in comfort and with dignity until they die, while providing support for families, friends, and caregivers. We provide a 12-bed residential hospice as well as a range of community services, including community navigation and case management, grief and family support services, day programs, and complementary therapies and wellness programs.

This opportunity comes at an exciting time for Hospice Vaughan as we embark on a new 3-year Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Director, Fund Development and Communications and working closely with the Manager, Events and Marketing this critical new role will elevate the work of the entire organization by leveraging awareness in the community and engaging with our supporters using strategic and creative digital communications.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- As a member of the Fund Development team, implement the annual communications and stewardship plan with the goals of increasing awareness in the community and strengthening donor engagement.
- Create and implement thoughtful and creative content for use across various communications platforms to generate support and awareness for Hospice Vaughan (i.e., website, social media channels, e-blasts, e-newsletters, advertisements).
- Work with staff across the organization to collect information and content for e-newsletters and quarterly and annual impact reports.
- Collect and manage a story bank of client and family testimonials to be shared across appropriate communications platforms.
- Coordinate and execute updates to current donor recognition (walls, plaques, website) and assist with transitioning to more digital methods.
- Work with Hospice Vaughan staff to deliver communications support for community programs, signature events, announcements, etc., including digital design work and photography.
- Provide support for media requests and relevant written materials as needed; track and monitor media coverage.
- Participate in and provide support to all Hospice Vaughan events as needed.

**Position Requirements**
- Diploma/degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field of study, and/or related professional experience.
- Experience across media platforms, and knowledge of current digital, social media and marketing trends.
- Ability to create content for a range of audiences and purposes, including fundraising, volunteer recruitment, awareness raising, and program support.
- Strong working knowledge of website content management (WordPress)
- Strong sense of graphic design and image editing (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
- Ability to use data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritize tasks and competing priorities while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of hospice palliative care and desire to engage in the growing online community supporting positive end of life conversations is considered an asset.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
