Linux and Mac computers have unique characteristics that require specialized knowledge and expertise. NRC has a large and growing number of these computers, and we are looking for a team leader who specializes in these systems to better understand their complexities and ensure they are managed in the most efficient way possible.

**The key activities for this position are the following**:

- Supervises and leads a team of Computer Specialists, establishes, maintains and monitors the delivery of innovative solutions related to Desktop Configuration Management Services on Linux and Mac Operating Systems. Establishes goals and priorities for the team and supports the management of allocated funds.
- Provides technical advice, guidance and assistance to NRC employees and Clients on Desktop Configuration Management capabilities, requirements and plans in order to support the achievement of departmental objectives.

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
Degree or diploma from a recognized University or Technical College in Computer Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and direct experience may be considered.

**Experience**:

- Significant* experience in supporting LINUX and Mac operating systems.
- Basic experience in administering a Desktop Management System (Symantec ITMS, Microsoft SCCM, Red Hat Satellite or Mac MDM).
- Basic experience in networking concepts TCP/IP Protocol.
- Significant* experience researching and analyzing IT issues and providing sound advice and expertise to management.
- Significant* experience in supervising staff.
- Significant signifies more than 2 years of experience.

- Solid knowledge of computer hardware, systems architecture and operating systems principles of the Linux, MAC and Windows based systems, software tools and shell programming; knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration and management.
- Basic ability to administer a Desktop Management System.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts TCP/IP Protocol.
- Basic knowledge of Project Management principles and practices.
- Solid ability to research and analyze IT issues and provide sound advice and expertise to management.
- Solid ability to guide and supervise a working team.

**Relocation**:
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

**Compensation**:
From $89,548 to $112,660 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.

An incumbent occupying a position within the CS Group is currently entitled to receive a terminable allowance of $212 per month.
