The Economics and Fiscal Policy Division plays an integral role in the development of Alberta’s fiscal strategy. **Salary**: $2,345.14 to $3,076.28 bi-weekly ($61,208 - $80,290/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
The Alberta Office of Statistics and Information (OSI) is a branch within the Economic and Fiscal Policy division in Treasury Board and Finance. The OSI is Alberta's statistical agency and the Statistical Focal Point for Statistics Canada

Key Responsibilities:

- Client Support: Liaise with clients to determine project requirements, maintain awareness of data assets, provide insight on best practices, build supports to help clients understand policies, and investigate options for resolving data gaps.
- Research & Communication: Maintain awareness of data assets, participate in knowledge sharing projects, recommend and test methodologies to streamline data documentation and sharing, support the development of response plans for data breaches, and create communications on new supports, tools and datasets.
- Program Capacity: Maintain familiarity with standard products and data deliveries, assist with documentation and quality assessment, support data loading and cataloging, review and dispose of old information, and provide backup for organizing data assets, including assisting in the coordination and management of the OSI website and Open Data resources.

**Qualifications**:
A diploma or degree in relevant discipline such as Information Management, Library Sciences, Computer Science, Statistics, or a combination of 4 years of progressively responsible work experience and education in a related field plus a strong knowledge of statistical & government data, systems, and standards is required.

- A strong knowledge of statistical & government data, systems, and standards.
- Awareness and understanding of a variety of statistical software like SAS, R, Python, Power BI, Stata and other programs that allow for data manipulation and analysis.
- Excellent communication, project management, time management, leadership and staff development skills, as well as analytical skills

This is a permanent, full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Currently, the Government of Alberta offers a hybrid work schedule that employees can choose to work from home for two days per week. Employees working from home must be working from an Alberta location. This position will be located in the Queen Elizabeth II (formerly Federal Building) in Edmonton.
