**Overview**
- Lafarge Canada Inc is a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality products for the construction industry and has an immediate opportunity at our Edmonton Asphalt Terminal for an **Assistant Terminal Operator.**Responsibilities**:
- Actively participate in and operate within the terminal Safety Program in compliance with Lafarge Canada Inc’s safety and environmental policies
Unload and load bulk semi-trucks
Operate a forklift
Supervise and direct contractors on site, when required
General labour related duties and cleanup
Terminal Housekeeping
Other associated duties that the employee is trained in-house or by requirement for

**Qualification**

**Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent with postsecondary/trade school completion/classes

**Experience and Skill Set**:
- Demonstrates commitment to safety for oneself and others
Mechanical aptitude a positive attribute
Time and self-management skills as part of a team or independently
Physically fit to encompass labour requirements of role
Demonstrate strong skills in problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking
Good verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy: including Excel, Word programs a benefit
Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays & Sundays
Able to lift 55 lbs
Valid class 5 driver’s license
Understanding of building materials industry, including cement product knowledge an asset
