- Founded in 2004, Apathy is Boring is a national, youth-led non-partisan, charitable organization that supports and educates youth to be active and contributing citizens in Canada’s democracy.

The Program Lead will be responsible for facilitation of an online workshop series which includes the integration of guest speakers, and to provide ongoing coaching to participants in support of their experiential learning efforts, for the BUILD program across Canada. They will ensure program deliverables & timelines are achieved, in accordance with the program plan & budget. Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Lead will ensure effective planning, implementation and monitoring or evaluation of the BUILD program. They will also collaborate with the Management team, including Research, Communications and Finance departments.

**Responsibilities**

Conceiving & Planning- Meet BUILD program objectives and goals-
- Adapt curriculum and programming that aims to improve the overall well-being of the BUILD participants-
- Bring an equity lens and population focus to all strategy work, program development and content development-
- Identify, recommend, and pursue opportunities to enhance the BUILD program that support Apathy is Boring’s strategic goalsOrganizing- Develop and control deadlines and activities for the BUILD program-
- Develop content and lead logístical planning for bi-annual BUILD program retreats-
- Keep master calendar and records of scheduled activities, events, experiential learning progress and initiate project management plans-
- Assist with the preparation, communication and distribution of BUILD program plans and budget-
- Ensure participant welcome packages are furnished and delivered punctually, which includes books, AisB merchandise and more-
- Source, gather, and share relevant advanced material and documentation for weekly workshop series and the bi-annual BUILD retreatsContracting- In collaboration with the Program Director, lead hiring and contracting of BUILD guest speakers/workshop leaders across Canada-
- Working closely with guest speakers/workshop leaders to ensure deliverables are met-
- Oversee HR needs, including coordinating sessions with guest speakers/workshop leaders-
- Coordinate guest speaker/workshop content planning and deliveryLeading- Interview participants via Zoom before making selections with support from the Program Director-
- Facilitate program workshop series and support participant experiential learning initiatives through ongoing individual mentorship and coaching-
- Work with the Program Director to identify partnership opportunities to strengthen linkages with organizations and partners in communities across Canada-
- Coordinate with Communications team on participant recruitment, and ensure program materials are shared and timely-
- Coordinate the continuous iteration of program content when needed-
- Work on program risk mitigation strategies-
- Lead the engagement and community building of program alumni by organizing periodic alumni specific eventsReviewing- Assess program performance working from KPIs, objectives and goals set out in the Evaluations Plan and program deliverables-
- Support the Research and Evaluations Lead as needed in developing and reviewing documents, preparing overviews, backgrounders, and project interim and final reports-
- Ensure participants complete pre and post surveys-
- Feedback the learnings and insights into further development of the program to ensure the best possible impact of our initiatives-
- Debrief bi-annual retreats with guest facilitator and make adjustments to future retreats as needed**Skills/experience**:
- Post-Secondary Education in Political Science, Social Science, Community Development, Education, public policy or any other relevant field of study-
- Excellent knowledge of computer and spreadsheet/word processing software including G Suite, Slack, Calendly and Microsoft Office Suite. Comfort in learning new platforms is required-
- Experience leading and working closely with issue based and/or electoral campaigns (either public awareness or legislative change), and a strong understanding of community driven policy intervention efforts/processes-
- Experience supporting the growth, and inspiring action, of people who are new to political organizing and advocacy-
- Experience in the development and management of programs for youth and community-
- Knowledge of local community resources and referral processes, and the ability to work with diverse individuals and groups on complex community issues is required-
- Minimum two (2) years community, labour, or political organizing experience-
- Minimum one (1) year experience in managing budgets-
