**About Our Opportunity**:
As a Senior Program Officer, you will coordinate programs, services and collaborate on policies and strategies that support the arts sector in NS. You will also oversee communication and community outreach functions.

This position reports to the Director of Arts Nova Scotia

**Primary Accountabilities**:
You will lead and collaborate on the planning, development, administration and evaluation of policies, strategies and programs that aim to support and expand the capacity of the arts sector. You will also provide guidance, support and expertise as needed to a network of organizations, and across government in the development of arts policies, plans, and initiatives.

As the ‘Lead’ you will also:

- Play a lead role in identifying and removing barriers that prevent applicants of equity-deserving groups from accessing programs and services.
- Provide strategic advice to the board of Arts NS and CCTH.
- Work collaboratively with the team at Arts Nova Scotia and the NS arts sector at large.
- Represent Arts Nova Scotia at provincial and/ or national tables and conversations related to our programs and policies.
- Facilitate difficult conversations with clients and stakeholders. Oversee the loans program and general management of the NS Art Bank including supervising and hiring contract staff.You will achieve this by:

- Coordinating the preparation of recommendations for funding
- Playing a leading role in the identification and removal of barriers preventing applicants of equity-deserving groups from accessing programs at Arts Nova Scotia.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
Do you champion the role of the arts in Nova Scotia?

To be successful in this position, you hold a Bachelors’ Degree with a minimum 5 years of progressive experience or a Master’s Degree with minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in program administration, development and evaluation. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be accepted.

You have experience working with the arts and culture sector and an understanding of the complexities, challenges and needs of diverse arts and culture groups/communities within that sector. You have demonstrated experience working with and in diverse communities. You value diversity, inclusion, and demonstrate the ability to effectively build and develop strong relationships and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders. You understand principles of participatory practices for public outreach, consultation, and stakeholder engagement.

You possess strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills (verbal and written). You are also creative, outcome focused, forward thinking and strive for innovation, using technology to capture, manage and share information. You value working collaboratively with colleagues and members of the community.

You are knowledgeable of arts and culture program delivery, development, and evaluation.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

**Working Conditions**:

- Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day
- CCTH offers a flex system of 3 days out of the home, 2 days at home work environment
- May be required to work overtime on occasion
