**JOB SUMMARY**

The Director of People and Culture is responsible for the overall function of human resources at Siloam Mission. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Executive Team.
- Grow Siloam Mission’s capacity as an organization to support experiential staff to thrive in all areas of the organization. Including onboarding and supports for experiential staff to understand work place policy and live into it well. Supporting all leadership to better understand the coaching and mentoring needs of experiential staff to help them thrive
- Support organizational cultural values to be lived into by staff. Develop and execute a HEART work culture strategy including defining behaviours, engaging employees, developing workshops and initiatives designed to embed HEART work culture Behaviors in the everyday work of employees and leaders.
- Play a lead role in overseeing the development of a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy, strategy and related initiatives. The incumbent will advise leaders on strategies and best practices to promote and foster diversity and establish an inclusive and welcoming work environment.
- Build employee resiliency, retention and mental health programs.
- Responsible for collaborating with sector partners on training and other programs[EU1] to support the highest standard of community-based care for those we serve.
- Design, implement, facilitate and support all diversity and inclusion leadership training, education, and awareness programs, and develop diversity awareness and inclusion materials/content for use in people/talent programs at all levels of the organization.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Skilled at attending to matters that require sensitivity and empathy across a diverse population Proven ability to promote an inclusive and engaged culture and implement related activities.
- Solid organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and reacting quickly to shifting priorities.
- Roll out a performance management system as well as other important talent and culture infrastructure for a growing organization.
- Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention and labor relations.
- Leads a team of HR professionals that supports Siloam’s organizational goals and mission.
- Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; designing systems; resolving problems; implementing change.
- Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
- Accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.
- Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
- Advanced Knowledge of HR policies, systems, and related provincial and federal laws and a commitment to keeping current with policies, systems, and related laws[EU2].
- Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least five years of human resource management experience is required.
- CPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
