**Role Description**

The Junior Mechanical Estimator is responsible for supporting the estimating team through structured estimates consistent with policies, procedures and technologies at WSN. The Junior Estimator is to ensure that company goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters, by performing the Essential Duties of this Job Description.

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Participate in Estimating turnover meetings and Preconstruction meetings as required.
- Support the management and compilation of detailed estimates from project drawings, specifications and site meetings. Prepare and finalize tenders, including the completion of all tender form(s).
- Assist the staff in the initial purchasing, scheduling, cost control and quality control.
- Ensure all proposal files are maintained and are current.
- Conduct site co-ordination/scheduling meetings.
- Ensure all information pertaining to company goals, strategies and pricing are kept confidential.
- Ensure the company's Safety, Quality Control and Administration programs are observed to assure the safe, timely and cost-effective completion of all work undertaken by the company.
- The Junior Mechanical Estimator must effectively communicate information to clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and company personnel that relates to the securing of estimated work.
- The Junior Mechanical Estimator shall operate from procedures under the direction of the Estimating Team with minimum supervision.
- All employees share the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customer's needs are being met.

**Qualifications**
- One or more years of experience in industrial construction is preferred with an emphasis on mechanical piping systems and components.
- Understanding of hydraulic principles, mechanical take-offs and/or estimating software is an asset.
- College diploma in Construction, Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- Trade background is considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Ability to work autonomously with possible travel to site locations.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Committed team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

**Working Relationships**

The Junior Mechanical Estimator reports to the Estimating Manager and is responsible for all assigned proposals. The Junior Mechanical Estimator works in cooperation with the management team and may assist with the liaison between clients and their representatives.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
