**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Estimator plays a crucial role in the organization by providing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects. They are responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine project costs and timelines. The Estimator will work closely with the operations department, sales teams, and subcontractors to develop competitive bids and proposals that align with client requirements and the company's financial objectives. As a forward-facing representative of the organization, the Estimator is expected to set an example of integrity, accountability, and professionalism, serving as a role model for colleagues, stakeholders, and partners.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:

- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand the scope and requirements of each project.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with the operations team to develop project schedules and subcontractor scopes of work.
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and pricing information to ensure competitiveness and accuracy of estimates.
- Prepare/request project-specific bonding and insurance requirements.
- Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate their proposals.
- Prepare detailed bid packages, including scopes of work, pricing breakdowns, and clarifications.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations on an ad-hoc basis.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop winning proposals and negotiate contracts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date estimating records and documentation.
- Continuously improve estimating processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior estimators.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay current with industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in Construction Management and General Contracting.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst and Building Connected)
- Strong mathematical and technical skills to perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost calculations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive estimates for successful project wins.
