We are looking for an innovative and compassionate Volunteer Programs (Intern) Co-Ordinator to help plan and coordinate our new volunteer programs. This role requires excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, experiences and age groups. The Volunteer Programs Intern works closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and Programs and Services Team and requires an ambitious self-starter who can work independently as well as part of our team. This will be primarily a remote based role, with multiple video meetings each day. When possible, there will also be in-person meeting with the direct supervisor.

**Responsibilities**:

- Research and create reports on best practices in peer support programs for caregivers
- Assist with the design and implement a recruitment and retention strategy
- Assist with training manual modifications for best knowledge transfer to diverse populations
- Source and recruit volunteers and collect information on skills and availabilities
- Ensure implementation of policies and practices
- Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and have the required skills and tools needed for their role
- Work closely with the Support Services Team for identification of caregivers’ support needs

**Experience, skills and other requirements**:

- Experience in community-based volunteering
- Experience in program design and implementation is an asset
- Able to communicate effectively with diverse people
- Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
- Detail-oriented and efficient
- Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
- A pleasant, outgoing and compassionate personality
- Knowledge and/or experience as a family caregiver is an asset
- Must have access to a reliable internet connection
- Currently studying at a post-secondary level in business administration, human resources, social work, recreation therapy or relevant field

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Edmonton, AB T5B 1R1
