Clark Builders is looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator to assist with the Red Deer Regional Hospital Expansion Project. This landmark megaproject is the largest in the history of Clark Builders and the largest single investment in Healthcare by the Government of Alberta. It will run from August 2024 to April 2032, and it involves the construction of a new 200 bed inpatient tower and extensive renovations to the existing Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. All construction activities will adhere to LEED Silver sustainability standards, demonstrating our commitment to environmentally responsible building practices.

The Mechanical and Electrical Coordinator will supply specialized technical and project management support on Mechanical and Electrical scopes of work, as required as part of a project team.

Reports to: Project Manager(s)

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the Mechanical and Electrical Systems scope of work on a single project or multiple projects- Provide Value Engineering and analysis throughout the project on M&E systems- Assist with tendering and tender bid evaluation for M&E scope- Prepare and update the construction plan and schedule for M&E scope- Initiate, chair and record minute meetings- Review and process associated shop drawings- Manage associated QA/QC- Issue and manage all associated RFI’s- Coordinate M&E activities in conjunction with other scopes of work to avoid conflict- Coordinate plans and direct all on-site M&E activities to comply with specification, requirements, codes and schedule- Participate in all M&E inspections, receive and distribute inspection reports and ensure all remedial work is carried out- Administer commissioning process per contract requirements- Assist in review and approval of M&E trade monthly progress claims- Manage, review, and process M&E change orders in conjunction with the Project Manager- Adhere to Clark Builders’ policies and procedures

Skills & Knowledge:
- A team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills- Demonstrate effective leadership- Conflict resolution skills and ability to interpret and manage competing priorities under time constraints- An understanding of contract fundamentals and experience in management of contracts- A good working knowledge of Mechanical systems and a basic electrical systems knowledge is required- Enjoys working closely with project owners and design consultants and enhance strong, long-term customer relationships

Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years experience with large scale multi million dollars construction projects- Trade background or Post Secondary Education in the fields of Mechanical and/or Electrical specialization- Project Manager/Estimating Experience with a mechanical or electrical trade contractor would be considered a definite asset
