**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Manager of International Student Services, this position is one of a team of International Student Advisors who provide comprehensive advising services and support assistance for international students in co-op programs. The International Student Advisor - Co-op must impart expert technical advice on Co-op Work Permit and other Canadian immigration matters affecting international students in co-op programs.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinating and/or facilitating workshops for groups of students, and collaborating closely with the Co-op Office.
- Ensuring all immigration information and changes in rules and regulations are communicated effectively to students, staff, and faculty.
- Identifying needs and designing and implementing a wide range of services to support the transition and integration of the international students in a Co-op program.
- Assessing students’ needs and connecting them with relevant College and community resources as required to ensure personal, academic, and professional success.
- Collaborating with other departments (Academic Schools, Co-op and Career Services, Student Life, Counselling) to monitor progress and develop success strategies and pathways for international students.
- Optimizing online processes, communications, and use of social media to engage with student cohort; i.e., communicating with students in professional and respectful ways in forums “where the students are at”.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Minimum three (3) year diploma or degree in Social Sciences, Communications Marketing or a combination of relevant education and experience
- Registered International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) or Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants is required.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience directly working with international students in an academic environment, including experience advising and coaching students and building student success strategies
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of Canadian Immigration Policies and Regulations specifically related to international students
- Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Strong team player skills including working collaboratively with various sub-teams, committees, and other departments within the College.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in international education.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
