The Mark Preece Family House is a not-for-profit charitable organization providing a warm, comfortable, accessible and affordable “home away from home” to families of critical care patients being treated at a Hamilton hospital.

We seek a caring, responsible, reliable person to fill a part-time Family Service Coordinator position at $20.25/hr, working occasional evenings and overnights as well as some weekends. You may have some regularly scheduled shifts in addition to being able to pick up extra hours as you fill in for vacations, sick leave, etc.

Joining our team as a Family Service Coordinator means you have direct interaction with our guest families, from scheduling through intake, providing ongoing service delivery throughout their stay. FSCs respond to guest needs, supervise volunteers and housekeeping staff, perform administrative tasks including computer work, as well as occasional light housekeeping duties. Like all employees, the FSC upholds the values and principles, mission and vision of the Mark Preece Family House and contributes to a positive, empathic, hard-working and fun team-centred workplace.

**Qualifications**:

- Post Secondary education in a social services or related field
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle possible crisis situations in a calm manner
- Dependable, punctual, considerate of your teammates
- Demonstrated ability to work with families under stress and respond to their needs in a positive and helpful manner
- Willingness to learn and be flexible, understand and follow direction, adhere to organizational policies and procedures, take constructive feedback, work well independently and as part of a team
- While mostly sitting, have the physical ability to occasionally lift items up to 30lbs, perform housekeeping tasks (stripping/making beds, folding laundry, kitchen clean-up), walk throughout the House, go up/down stairs
- Criminal Reference check and vaccination proof required
