**Overview of Bethesda**

Established in 1971 as a Christian ministry, Bethesda is a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)-accredited agency providing an array of services throughout British Columbia (BC) including: Staff-Supported Homes, Home Share, Intentional Community, Community Inclusion, LIFE Services, Supported Independent Living, Family Support and Summer Camps to approximately 495 participants with diverse abilities and their families. Bethesda has a budget of $27 million and employs approximately 450 staff. Services and resources are based in the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan, with the provincial office located in Abbotsford. **Overview of the CEO Role**

As the CEO of Bethesda, you will have the opportunity to lead with a faith-based vision, uplifting people with diverse abilities and their families within the dynamic community living sector. Internally, you will develop strategies, ensuring effective risk management and leading a highly engaged leadership team and support staff.

Externally, you will be a passionate advocate for policy change, actively fostering community engagement, and building strategic partnerships. By focusing on impact and innovation, you will oversee governance, nurturing a diverse team, and securing the necessary resources to create lasting social change.

**Role and Responsibilities**

The CEO plays a pivotal role in modeling Bethesda’s faith-based mission, building alliances, and leading positive change in communities and the community living sector. In this section, we outline the pivotal roles and responsibilities of the CEO, highlighting the diverse range of tasks and leadership areas that encompass this influential position.

**Vision and Strategy**
- Collaborate with the board and the leadership team in setting strategic priorities, monitoring progress, and ensuring organizational sustainability.
- Implement board policies and directives.
- Foster innovation to expand and improve the services and their delivery to people receiving services as well as opportunities for potential service users.
- Promote and uphold ethical standards and financial transparency within the organization.
- Build and maintain a healthy and psychologically safe work culture.
- Engage with and include self-advocates in planning and decisions that impact them.

**Organizational Leadership**
- Oversee the long-term, general and day-to-day administration, operations and services to ensure they are meeting the mission and purpose of Bethesda.
- Engage key staff and leaders, other agencies, or external stakeholders, where appropriate, to develop special initiatives that will enhance the experiences of people and families receiving services.
- Manage and mitigate risks and uphold a strong organizational reputation.
- Encourage cross-functional initiatives and strategic alignment.
- Guide marketing and communications initiatives and practices to ensure they positively and accurately reflect the organization and its priorities.
- Maintain a high standard of ethics, consistently demonstrating integrity and grace in all workplace interactions and decisions. Uphold principles and values, serving as a role model for ethical conduct and fostering a culture of honesty, respect, and fairness.
- Lead and inspire the executive team and director team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide supervision and guidance to the chief financial officer, chief operations officer, chief human resources officer, chief assets and development officer and communications manager. Conduct annual performance reviews to evaluate their performance, set goals
