**Job duties overview**:

- Participate in online or in-person events to engage the public; deliver educational messages or activities and provide visitor information on Parks Canada places.

Connect with other Canadians in meaningful ways that reflect Parks Canada’s brand and mandate. Record accounts of public interactions and file electronic reports on events and successes. Potential to travel in Southwestern Ontario to assist with special events at Parks Canada administered places.
- Occasionally wear uniform or mascot costume.
- Fluency in languages other than English and French is an asset.

**Job Location(s)**: Hybrid - includes both remote work and office work Leamington, Ontario.

**Timeline**: This is a seasonal position from May to September 2024.

**To be eligible, you must be**:

- A student in an accredited institution or a recent graduate in the last 4 months.
- Or someone between the ages of 15 and 30 years old who self-identifies as belonging to one or more Employment Equity groups (i.e. Indigenous youth, Racialized youth, or youth with disabilities).

**APPLICANTS WILL BE SCREENED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA**:
**Education**:

- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in social media and/or communications.

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision, and as part of a team.
- Must have exceptional communication skills in writing and be able to interact effectively with the public (virtually or in person).
- Must be well-organized and able to plan, prioritize, and complete assignments.
- Must be able to create, deliver, and assess social media content.
- Knowledge of curating marketing materials to target audiences.
- Knowledge of Parks Canada’s mandate and Parks Canada sites in Southwestern Ontario.
- Experience with photography / videography is an asset.
- Someone who exercises sound judgment and communicates passion for Parks Canada’s mandate and strives for excellence.

**Language**:

- English Essential
- Fluency in languages other than English is an asset.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Reliability Status security clearance.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, if required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to occasionally wear a Parks Canada uniform and/or mascot costume.
- Willingness to work in person in a Parks Canada administration building as part of a hybrid position.
