The Greater Vancouver International Film Festival Society is a not-for-profit cultural organization that operates the internationally acclaimed Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) and the Vancity Theatre, located in the VIFF Centre. We produce screenings, talks and events as a catalyst for a diverse community to discover, discuss and share the creativity and craft of storytelling on screen.

Working under the guidance of the Industry Events Manager, the Industry, Talks, & Labs Events Coordinator is responsible the coordination of VIFF’s Industry, Talks, and Labs program event logistics. Spearheading Industry outreach and community engagement, is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives that enhance the engagement of filmmaker and cinephile communities with VIFF’s Industry, Talks, and Labs programs.

**Industry - **An exceptional opportunity for film and TV professionals at every level to hear directly from those setting the bar in the international and local industry today.

**Talks -** Conversations with the world’s best filmmakers, producers, writers, and other senior creatives in film and television.

**Labs -** Intimate hosted dialogue between creators and their peer creative communities about the key issues impacting their work, their lives, and our society.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the Industry Events team in the logístical planning, and successful execution of Industry, Talks, and Labs programs.
- Support marketing and outreach for each program, including registration for Labs.
- Coordinate community partners, industry guests and panelists including accreditation, travel and accommodation, and hosting.
- Develop opportunities for online and in-person networking for Industry participants, including support for the launch of an industry focused communication platform.
- Coordinate the invitation, registration, and attendance process for VIFF Labs, identifying and dismantling barriers for equitable participation.
- Under the guidance of the Guest Services Manager, book travel and accommodation for 10-15 Industry guests.
- Work with the Guest Ticketing team to organize accreditation for guests and stakeholders.
- Assist in the coordination of event access and ticketing for individuals and community groups.
- Coordinate the documentation of logistics in the ‘Run of Show’ (ROS) for Industry, Talks, and Labs events.
- Coordinate Industry, Talks, and Labs on the day as outlined in the ROS.
- Be the on the ground liaison between Venue Staff, VIFF Front of House staff, and Industry and Events team.
- Support, manage, train, and schedule any AMP and Live volunteer teams.

**Qualifications**:

- Highly organized, focused, and able to work within tight deadlines.
- Effective written communication, including the ability to adapt for different audiences and purposes.
- Confident public speaker and group facilitator.
- Adept in researching, selecting, testing, and measuring communications channels.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural competency and respect.
- Commitment to the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to identify and dismantle barriers to accessible and equitable participation.
- Interest and/or experience working in film, contemporary arts, and culture.
- Pre-existing relationships with film and/or creative organizations and communities are an asset.
- Experience with events and/or festivals an asset.
- Proven experience working in a customer service focused environment.
- Experience working with volunteers is an asset.
- Familiarity with scheduling software, communication tools like slack and Asana, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $3,593.33 per month
