This includes influencing public policy, leading awareness and prevention programs and continually building and sharing our knowledge. More than a place to stay, we provide life-changing care with unconditional love and respect. We meet youth’s immediate needs and then we work together to achieve their future goals. We offer housing options, health and well-being support, training and skill development, and ongoing care once youth move into the community.

Thanks to our donors, who contribute 75 per cent of our $40-million annual operating budget, we are able to deliver these comprehensive programs and services.

Since 1982, Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people.

**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with program staff, and other CHT services to promote the program
- Work from a trauma informed lens, offering support and connecting to supports in the community if and when needed
- Conduct initial screening assessments and make necessary referrals to the housing worker attached to this project when a youth shows interest
- Attend information sessions and community networking events in promoting our services
- Provide one
- one support to youth moved into this project, and ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills to live independently and if not ensure that life skill workshops are provided
- Coordinate with the housing worker 6 months prior to the youth moving out to help secure market rent apartment.
- In put data onto the ETO system, write reports as needed, incident reports and keep regular case notes on the clients in the program
- Support project-specific deliverables to ensure alignment with overall department goals and objectives are met
- Develop and deliver highly engaging presentations to potential program participants and/or their case workers
- Maintain a list of community resources for internal and external referrals
- Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned
- Required to adjust your work schedule to provide support to youth on the weekends, and to plan engagement and life skills programming if required based on the youth’s schedule.

**Qualification, Experience**:

- College or university degree or diploma in child and youth work or equivalent.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a shelter or residential setting.
- Knowledge of adolescent developmental theory and specific issues related to street youth.
- First Aid, CPR and basic computer skills an asset.
- Excellent report writing skills and previous statistical data collections experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
