DIRECTOR OF RECREATION AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The Municipality of the District of St Mary’s is seeking an energetic, results-driven individual with strong organizational skills and a passion for public service to join our team as the Director of Recreation and Community Development.

Key Responsibilities: Management and successful execution of recreation programs ensuring a strong focus on inclusion and public benefit for all ages. Management of a recreation support team, project and event planning, community liaison, budget management and efficiency.

Hours and Working Conditions: This position is full time, 40 hours per week. Key work location shall be the Municipal Office, 8296 Hwy 7, Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia. Work will involve frequent on-site evening and weekend leadership of recreation events.

Qualifications Include:

- Degree or Diploma in Recreation, Community Development, Human Kinetics or a

related field.
- Several Year’s experience in developing, managing, and supervising public

recreation projects, event management in physical education, and health programs.
- Leadership experience including people management and supervisory experience.
- Experience in municipal government or other level of government would be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $50,429-$63,036 dependent on skills and experience.
