Fortin's is a local, family owned business that has been part of the community since 1946. We supply automotive/industrial products, have a machine shop at our Airport Road location, and are a part of Home Hardware.
Fortin's currently has stores in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Vedder and Hope.

This position is full-time, Monday to Friday. Must also be available for occasional Saturday work as needed.

**The Payroll Administrator is the primary for**:

- Managing and processing entire payroll cycle (including ROE’s and T4’s)
- Support HR Coordinator with recruitment, onboarding, performance and termination contracts, letters, and procedures
- Support managers with payroll related issues
- File all government tax payments
- Oversee all WCB, benefits, and RRSP/DPSP
- Complete all payroll reports and JE postings
- Assist with year end tasks
- Develop, review or improve company policies and procedures
- Be well versed in laws and regulations regarding payroll
- Answering questions from employees regarding payroll, benefits, WCB
- Support office team in various projects

**Reporting to the Operations Manager/HR for guidelines and support.**

Payroll Administrator skills and qualifications:

- Knowledge and understanding of the payroll process
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to problem-solve and decision-making skills
- Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Good typing and data entry skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment and payroll laws
- Ability to keep track of a variety of details
- Familiarity with HR software, payroll software and the internet
- ADP experience would be an asset
- 6-12 months of Payroll or equivalent staff accountant working experience
