Calgary, Canada SMS Equipment Inc. Full time

At **SMS Equipment**, our **Sales Representatives** are responsible for developing the full sales potential of the existing market share for SMS Equipment for the purpose of increasing it. The **Sales Representative** will promote, sell and rent various product lines distributed by SMS Equipment for the construction, mining and forestry industry. We are looking for someone who is tenacious, optimistic and a team player to join our growing sales team. This role is based in **Calgary, AB**.

The base salary for this role is **$36,000 plus commission.**

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Be a representative for SMS Equipment and conduct business transactions.
- Follow all policies and procedures laid out by SMS Equipment.
- Study the market situation, set goals and objectives and plan prospecting activities accordingly.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports of activities.
- Produce and maintain a current list of clients.
- Determine new as well as existing customer’s needs, analyze their equipment, decide and recommend the proper equipment needed to meet their expectations.
- Prepare and produce business proposals for approval by the Regional Sales Manager.
- Ensure that the customer receives proper and adequate information on the operation and function of the product purchased.
- Regularly follow up with customers after sales.
- Submit lost sales reports immediately after the event occurred.
- Assist the credit department in collecting due amounts.
- Work closely with the product support department regarding sales potential or any other related issue regarding this department or any other department.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of construction, mining and forestry equipment including operation and function.
- Ability to operate in a diverse environment with a significant focus on client/customer relationships.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines is essential.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
- Capable of setting and exceeding objectives.
