**Job Overview**

Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating the implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety Policies and Programs on site. The Safety Coordinator will also support the Safety Manager in the attainment of goals related to health and safety with a visible commitment to the protection of the employees and environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintains, issues, and instructs workers on the care, use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Develops, coordinates, and implements the site-specific safety programs as outlined in the safety manual
- Assists or aids in the development of site-specific safe work plans, policies, procedures, practices, job hazard analysis (JSA), hazardous and repair work
- Communicates and provides education to supervisors and crew members
- Provides guidance, assistance and coordination in the implementation and maintenance of the toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, driver card audits, and daily safety tours
- Assists and provides promotional information to site supervision for the weekly safety meeting and conducts the safety meeting when required
- Promotes and participates in the site incentive programs to improve worker and crew involvement and awareness of workplace safety
- Assists and provides injured workers with prompt first aid or medical attention
- Administers and maintains records of the company's modified work program
- Notifies the project team and the Safety Manager of all incidents
- Follows all site-specific safety requirements and communicates requirements to crew, supervision and all visitors
- Conducts site specific new hire orientation and safety training as required
- Maintains and records all empoyees safety training documentation
- Assists or conducts site safety inspection and investigation
- Attends and participates in all site safety related safety committees and meetings
- Reviews all project trends, statistics, and related safety performance.
- Provides input/support for implementation of action items from safety trends and statistics
- May perform other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent in general studies and certificate or training in health and safety
- Must be CSO, NCSO and or OH&D certified or Ontario equivalent
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years experience in HSE in the oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years experience relative to supporting an investigation, root cause analysis and risk rating analysis
- Ability to build strong relationships with employees and the client
- Understands the current Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Effectively solve problems and challenges that satisfy customers
- Performs work independently with mínimal supervision
- Class 1 driver's license is preferred

**Position Information**
- Shift schedule of 5 days on and 2 days off, Monday - Friday 40 hour work week
- Temporary position with an anticipated end date of June 2, 2023
