**Background**:
Founded in 1972 as a registered charity, Trout Unlimited Canada's mission is “to conserve, protect and restore Canada's freshwater ecosystems and their coldwater resources for current and future generations”. Our programs have a watershed focus and are implemented directly by staff, local chapters, volunteers, and partners. Our programs and projects focus on assessment, monitoring and restoration of freshwater ecosystems, ensuring healthy water quality and quantity, healthy habitats and healthy aquatic communities.
**Location**: Calgary, AB or Guelph, ON
**Term**:Full-time (6 months) or part-time (12 months) with potential for extension
The focus of this position is to review and update the organization’s digital filing system, recommend and create processes and standards for document handling and storage. The goal of this position is to increase efficiency for staff and reliability in our document management systems. The person in the role will be responsible for development and execution as well as providing recommendations for policies and procedures.
**Responsibilities**:
- Review and optimize document management structure
- Implement project coding
- Create file handling standards
- Copy, scan and store documents
- Review and update technical documents (e.g. manuals and workflows)
- File documents in physical and digital records
- Create templates for future use
- Manage the flow of documentation within the organization
- Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information and terms of agreement
**Qualifications**:
- Proven work experience as a Document Controller or similar role
- Familiarity with project management
- Basic knowledge of labor and corporate law
- Hands-on experience with MS Office
- Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
- Proficient typing and editing skills
- Data organization skills
- Attention to detail
- Post secondary certification in Project Management or relevant post secondary education
