Product Analyst

Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent _Product Analyst_ to join our team in the Product Enablement department. This position offers the flexibility to be in-office or participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon or Regina office.
**JOB FUNCTION**
To be successful in this position, you’ll need to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders from all functions and across all levels of the organization and possess an excellent understanding of the health insurance industry. This role will support the analysis of trends in product and partnership performance, develop reporting, insights and recommendations for competitive advancement, including contributing to competitive research and supports new product designs, enhancements and any modifications to existing product lines.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide accurate and timely data analysis on all core product lines
- Validate and prepare information for product reviews
- Gather necessary data from partners and internal stakeholders; review to ensure it is complete, accurate and reasonable; and prepare data for use in basic or advanced analyses
- Research, support, and analyze competitive benchmarking exercises and trend reviews
- Analyze cost drivers by reviewing pricing and utilization data, and looking for year-over-year trends or comparisons for opportunities for product enhancement
- Prepare standard KPI reports for all core product lines
- Contribute to competitive research to support new product designs, enhancements, or modifications
- Ensure seamless execution of administrative procedures
- Actively support the leadership team with reporting needs, specifically as it relates to ongoing product performance, helping to identify opportunities and support tactical strategies to address gaps
- Stay current on external market conditions and new or evolving trends
- Support the implementation of the established annual business plan for the department
- Participate in the UAT of product enhancements and new products, in accordance to the approved business requirements
- Implement and maintain resources to report on member insights, data analytics, and market research
- Prepare and deliver pricing optimization reporting insights in collaboration with Underwriting and Claims
- Deliver utilization optimization reporting insights in collaboration with Sales and Claims
**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Data Analysis, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Human Resources), or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- 3+ years of experience in product and/or data analysis roles, ideally within insurance benefits
- Detail-oriented, organized, accurate, and thorough
- Strong mathematical and data visualization skills
- Outstanding relationship skills; is able to quickly identify other’s needs, build relationships, and exhibits high empathy, treating others with respect and dignity
- Strong emphasis on confidentiality is essential
- Interest in career development and willingness to participate in industry-related training and professional development is required
- Knowledge of laws and regulations with regard to the processing of health benefits
- Ability to work in a demanding fast-paced team environment with the multiple tasks, priorities and requirements that may change quickly
- Exceptional investigative, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to research and evaluate opportunities to make sound decisions and informed recommendations that support Growth and Profitability strategy and plans
- Ability to ask for additional information, clarification guidance and support
- Demonstrated ability to present information clearly and in a manner that is concise, thorough, and understandable
