As a Health & Safety Coordinator for Securiguard who reports to the Director Health and Safety. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining close relationships within client management, H&S committees, and employees to assist Securiguard to achieve its corporate commitment to Health & Safety. The H&S Coordinator is also responsible for providing a specific industry/region with professional EH&S expertise and guidance. The region will be based in Toronto but may include travel to other areas and client sites within Ontario.

**Job Description**:

- Active participation in all incident calls and investigations for workplace incidents within the territory.
- Assist branches by providing accurate interpretations of applicable HS legislation and in implementing the Corporate EH&S management system effectively and consistently
- Identify tactical deficiencies at branch level to assist in the development of corporate H&S initiatives.
- Actively engage and support assigned branches in activities such as: safety program implementation, internal & external HS audits, safety performance management and proactive initiatives geared towards injury reduction.
- Assist branch safety investigations through coordination, quality review, acting as lead investigator as required.
- Network and liaise with external stakeholders such as customers, contractors, and regulators to facilitate and initiate health & safety activities.
- Accountable for the interpretation of the Provincial and Federal OHS legislation as it applies to the Securiguard workplaces.
- Provide accurate professional assessment and feedback regarding risk management, such as the definition of "reasonable" risk and accepted safe practices.
- Deliver effective and interactive EHS presentations, workshops, and training programs that will increase the knowledge and participation of Securiguard employees in the Corporate HS management system.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2+ years' experience in an EHS role with demonstrated success in safety culture improvement
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Incident investigation (Root Cause, SCAT, etc.,) experience considered an asset
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and health and safety management skills
- Proven ability to lead and supervise - strong presence and at times direct HS-related work
- Strong team player with the ability to work with employees and business leaders at multiple levels in the organization with the willingness rise to the opportunity and help others
- Solid organizational, time management, prioritization, and independent problem solving skills
- Strong knowledge of RTW programs and case management
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Travel required to assigned branches and client sites on a regular basis to champion boots-on-the-ground safety
