Reporting to the _Manager, Marketing & Communications, _the _Media Specialist_ will conceptualize, plan, and execute on digital content, including video production, graphic design, and social media, ensuring alignment with Abilities Centre brand.

**What You’ll Do**:

- **Develop, Create & Build**:Working with the Marketing and Communications team, you will co-**develop** a digital media strategy that aligns with the overall marketing and communications strategy, and drives growth, awareness, and engagement. You will collaborate with cross-departmental teams to **create** campaigns and project plans and provide support to meet their objectives. You will collaborate with cross-departmental teams to **build** project and campaign calendar according to project complexity and urgency. You will work with _Senior Graphic Design Specialist_ and other _Media Specialists to_ **create** digital content, videos, and graphics for social media and/or online communications use, including newsletters, eblasts and podcast.
- **Oversee, Monitor & Analyze**:You will assist the _Manager, Marketing & Communications, _and other _Media Specialists,_ in **overseeing** social media accounts and channels. You will **monitor** trending topics to discover shareable content and/or engage in conversations, as well as stay on top of emerging trends in digital media and accessibility. You will **analyze**, review, and report on effectiveness of digital media content and campaigns to maximize results and make recommendations for future media projects. You will help continuously improve social performance by capturing and **analysing** appropriate data and acting in insights.
- **General**:You will use knowledge and understanding of digital media platforms and how users engage with each to deliver best-in-class experience, ensuring all digital content is accessible. You will attend events for live social media postings and/or to capture photo and video content. You will identify influencers and partners and build online relationship with them, as well as identify and manage cross-promotional opportunities with third-party organizations and partners.

**What You’ll Bring**:

- **Education & Experience**:You have a post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or related program. You bring 2+ years relevant experience - not-for-profit or charitable experience an asset. You have experience in graphic design, post digital editing and Adobe Creative Cloud. You have hands-on experience developing and implementing effective digital media strategies. You have experience and sensitivity in dealing with clients of different cultural and racial backgrounds including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity.
- **Technical Skills & Knowledge**: You have knowledge of inclusion, accessibility, and accommodation. You are proficient in use of Microsoft Office products. You have excellent organizational skills and extremely detail oriented. You have strong presentation and communication skills across multiple mediums. You have a passion for all things digital content and a strong understanding of the landscape and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios to target specific audiences and meet objectives. You can work well under pressure and balance/prioritize multiple projects and deliver in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment. You are flexible, adaptive to change, and able to handle shifting priorities with maturity and foresight to cope with input and changes with short notice at times.
- **Administrative requirements**:You have a **current, clear criminal record check for the vulnerable sector from the last 6 months, which is required**. May be required to work daytime, evenings, and weekends.
