The Opportunity

The Canadian National Office of KPMG is looking for a Bilingual Contract Manager to join the Contracts Group of the Office of General Counsel (OGC). This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive, high-caliber in-house legal team in a thriving and progressive global professional services firm. The Contracts Group oversees KPMG’s contracting needs across Canada. This challenging and interesting role will allow you to be both hands-on and strategic, influencing and making recommendations on how best to proceed with contracts in accordance with KPMG policies and procedures.

What you will do:

- Directly support and advise KPMG business teams in both official languages on the review, negotiation and drafting of a wide range of commercial contracts as guided by playbooks, policy and procedure, including:

- standard engagement contracts (audit, advisory, tax), including routine variations to standard terms and conditions;
- RFP proposals, including interpreting RFP requirements and reviewing proposed contractual terms and conditions against KPMG standards;
- non-disclosure agreements; and
- a variety of lower complexity supply and services contracts with KPMG’s suppliers/vendors.
- Deliver a customer-centric approach to the business, anticipating their needs and projecting a ‘how can I help you’ attitude.
- Assist in the management of the contract workflow/intake system.
- Participate in the development of precedents, templates and other operational improvements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding risk management, privacy, litigation, insurance, and IT security, in connection with commercial contracting.
- Support senior members of the Contracts team on complex contracting matters and projects.

What you bring to this role:

- Oral and written proficiency in both French and English is required.
- Bachelor’s degree or cégep is required.
- IACCM certification and/or Paralegal or Law Clerk designation is an asset.
- Experience within a professional services organization is an asset.
- 5+ years contract management and contract negotiations experience in procurement or with an in-house legal team.
- Experience working directly with management or senior level executives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
- Critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
