Evaluate dies, fixtures and cutting tools to meet quality and safety standards.
- Monitor tool performance and perform minor repair or coordinator with external tool vendor for repair as needed.
- Investigate and diagnose tooling issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Confers with vendor on die and machine repairs and keep Manager informed of status.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify and address potential issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime.
- Execute routine machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and calibration procedures.
- Analyze technical problems on equipment and implement effective solutions
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment and tooling, minimizing downtime in the production process.
- Develop, implement and manage preventive maintenance schedules for all tools and equipment
- Notify Supervisor concerning the need for repairs or replacement of equipment.
- Assist with training personnel on safe use of tooling and machine processes as required, in compliance with governmental and Bobrick standards of safety.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all hazards, keeping the work area clean, materials positioned correctly and following safe operating procedure.
- Oversee the calibration of precision tools to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to implement and maintain quality assurance processes related to tooling and first article submission.
- Manage tooling inventory, including ordering, tracking, and organizing tools and spare parts.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance, repairs, and calibration activities.
- Generate regular reports on tooling performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Prepares requisition for tool purchases, maintenance and repairs.
- Propose, implement and participate in Bobrick Method Improvements program.
- Participate and facilitate charter teams.
- Assist the Manager in planning and implementing effective and efficient methods of fabricating. This applies to the development of new products and special quotes.
- Provide input to budget preparation and meet the specified deadline.
- Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies related to tooling.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality control, to optimize overall manufacturing processes.
- Participate in cross-functional teams for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel for trade shows, conferences, other facilities or vendors shops
- Assist other Bobrick facilities with Machine and Tooling issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
