Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centres. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.

**POSITION TITLE: HR/Office Clerk**

**POSITION TITLE**: HR Clerk

**DEPARTMENT**: Human Resources department.

**POSITION**: 8-week job placement (35 hours per week)

**ACCOUNTABLE TO**: HR Manager

**SUMMARY OF POSITION**:
Incumbent will be working as HR Clerk, responsible for assisting with HR clerical duties related to hiring personnel, setting up interviews, conducting reference checks, scanning confidential documents, maintaining records and several other clerical duties. Additional administrative duties includes answering phones, updating, and creating spreadsheets and other correspondence.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintaining HR filing systems for paid staff and volunteers, as well as relevant databases.
- Assisting in vetting and identifying professional development opportunities for staff.
- Maintain electronic employee records & files.
- Managing and distributing information for the HR Team
- Provide occasional support for reception.
- Other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Minimum qualifications**:

- Some education related to business administration or human resources.
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel & Word
- Previous payroll and/or benefits administration experience is an asset.

**Minimum skills and ability**:

- Effective communicator with good customer service skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated professional handling of confidential information.
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and adapt to feedback.
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other disabilities an asset.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-32 per week

**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

- French not required

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
