The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will lead PGR's Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) efforts utilizing the 4 Pillars below to support and grow our Regional Operation.
- Leadership Actions - the Indigenous Engagement Coordinator shall Lead our Regional efforts to educate our other Regional Leaders as we grow towards Gold status in PAR Certification. The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator shall be the regional lead as we collaborate with groups such as the CCAB and ION.
- Business Development - the Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will work in the Supply Chain developing a network of opportunities for Indigenous companies/vendors to progress opportunities for indigenous business with Black & McDonald and our clients.
- Community Relationships - all Pillars are possible when the Indigenous Engagement Coordinator is active within Indigenous communities and committed to their health, well being and prosperity.

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- A degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution in Business Administration, or relevant discipline is considered an asset

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Ongoing involvement within Indigenous communities is essential
- Experience in leading a team is considered an asset
- Industry expereince in the construction sector an asset
- Previous experience in Business Development, presentation writing, and public speaking is considered an asset
- Entrepreneurial experience is considered an asset
- Existing contacts with Indigenous Communities, Provincial and Federal Ministries responsible for Indigenous Affairs considered an asset

**SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- A deep understanding of Indigenous culture, history, customs, and beliefs is essential
- Fluency in Indigenous language(s) considered a strong asset
- A positive attitude and desire to make a difference is essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A demonstrated history of and commitment to integrity
- A high level of organization, planning, and attention to detail is essential
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio).
- Resourceful and flexible
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to travel to local Indigenous communities is essential
- A valid Driver's License is essential and the ability to travel to our regional office located in Bowmanville is essential with a hybrid work location (2 days work from home or alternative location) is an option
