**ABOUT BOWMANVILLE HOSPITAL FOUNDATION**

We are the fundraising arm of Bowmanville Hospital. Our mission is to “Enhance donor relationships to fund hospital projects and equipment not supported by the government.” To meet the planned transformation of our hospital, the Foundation has embarked on the largest capital and fundraising campaign in its history. To give it the focus and momentum that this critical endeavor requires, the Foundation launched the “We Care, We Can - Investing in Our Health Care” campaign to inspire the community to help support capital improvements and essential medical equipment needs for the Bowmanville Hospital. Our two fundraising goals are to raise:
Phase One: To raise the community share of the estimated capital costs of the hospital redevelopment and expansion project; and

Phase Two: Establish robust annual fundraising program after the capital campaign is complete.

Our community fundraising will have a singular focus: providing the latest equipment, tools, technology and infrastructure that will directly enhance the quality of health services available at Bowmanville Hospital.

To implement, manage and execute activities that support a strong, comprehensive annual fundraising program aimed at increasing donor engagement and revenue.

**Essential Duties of Position**
- Oversees and coordinates all tasks related to annual giving by individual and corporate donors by:

- undertaking responsibility for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, stewarding and acknowledging donors;
- carrying out cultivation and stewardship strategies in reaching out to annual fund donors;
- fostering relationships by building, managing and sustaining business associations necessary to support the achievements of fundraising goals;
- creating a community of engagement by acquiring new local corporate participation, donations and community fundraising initiatives;
- participating in and supporting community fundraising events and activities as required;
- meeting approved annual fundraising goals through coordination of community fundraising and other events;
- creating an exceptional experience and positive interactions with business leaders and supporters, volunteers and organizers, participants, donors and partners;
- being an active participate in local networking and health related events that enhance Bowmanville Hospital Foundation’s presence in the community;
- coordinating logistics for a variety of stewardship events;
- performing current and consistent data entry with information regarding funds and donors;
- performing regular data quality control to ensure accuracy and completeness of information;
- training and working alongside an appropriate mix of volunteers to support fundraising and community engagement activities;
- anticipating needs and proactively searching for solutions to ensure event organizer’s expectations are met or exceeded;
- establishing and maintaining information-tracking process regarding acknowledgement, recognition, on-going communications and continued cultivation for past and current donors;
- assisting in establishing and coordinating individualized stewardship plans to donors in their portfolios;
- drafting donor acknowledgement letters;
- Setting-up and maintaining donor data in database program;
- generating and compiling statistical reports from database on a monthly basis or as needed;
- coordinating various needs with vendors and sponsors of events;
- troubleshooting problems and enhancing reports to provide the most meaningful and accurate data possible;
- assisting other Foundation members with tasks, projects and assignments as needed to enhance the Foundation’s fundraising strategy.

**Other Duties**:

- assisting with special projects and events;
- using safe work practices at all times and reporting building, equipment problems etc. to manager on a timely basis as assigned.

**Qualifications Required to Perform at Full Working Level**:

- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in the area of fundraising, marketing, corporate communications, business development, sales, or equivalent combination of education and experience Demonstrated experience in a related fundraising capacity.
- Professional, positive, and approachable attitude and the ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse groups of people including Board members, donors, volunteers, the public and staff.
- Exemplary organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and prioritize assignments.
