We are an expanding heating and cooling company based in Ottawa. We are seeking a skilled and experienced HR professional to join our dynamic team. As an HR specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our business objectives. Your expertise will contribute to attracting, retaining, and developing top talent, while ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Negotiate settlements of appeals and disputes and co-ordinate termination of employment process
- Addressing employee inquiries and maintaining records regarding vacation and time-off
- Administrative support for Learning and Development activities
- Collaborate with managers to identify and address staffing needs, and develop effective recruitment and retention strategies.
- Develop and administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance issues, conflict resolution, and employee development plans.
- Maintaining employee files (data entry and paper filing).
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars
Qualifications:
- experience in HR roles, with a solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment legislation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas and information clearly and persuasively.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in HR software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
**Salary**: $18.00-$30.00 per hour
