About the Opportunity

This exciting full-time, on-site position with TAG HR in Ottawa offers a pet-friendly environment and a competitive salary range of $65,000-$70,000.

As a Training and Development Specialist, you will lead training and development initiatives at our not-for-profit organization. The role involves assessing and designing training programs, delivering onboarding and group/individual training to meet staff needs, and providing advice to managers, directors, and board members.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on training and development
  2. Experience designing and delivering adult training/education programs
  3. Formal education in learning theories and training methodologies
  4. Strong proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms
  5. Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications

About the Role

In this role, you will track training outcomes, evaluate performance, provide feedback, and report skills gaps or performance issues. You will also oversee and ensure compliance with training program budgets and maintain detailed and accurate administrative and HR documentation.

Additionally, you will ensure compliance with legislation, policies, procedures, collective agreements, and health and safety standards. You will attend meetings and provide training, orientations, and supervision for students, volunteers, and work placements.
