Analytical Chemist - Method Development and Validations Scientist

The BioScision Group of Companies is seeking a Method Development and Validation Analytical Chemist to join the team.
**Reporting and Supervision**
- This position works as part of the laboratory management team.
- This position reports directly to the Head of Laboratories and the Chief Science Officer.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform assay development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Perform equipment calibrations, maintenance, and documentation.
- Writing, revising, training, and implementation of validated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Fill technical roles and data analysis/review as needed during routine sample processing.
- Ensure that safety guidelines (WHMIS and Biological Safety) are followed at all times.
- Operate with respect to the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and company/client privacy policies.
- Other duties as required/assigned.
**General laboratory duties**
- The core working hours are 8:30AM to 5PM Monday to Friday.
- Maintain laboratory records and inventory.
- Preparation of chemicals and reagents as required.
- Validation of chemicals and reagents as required.
- Organize and store all chemicals and reagents accordingly.
- General and chemical waste disposal.
- Perform stability studies on laboratory generated reagents.
- Other duties as required/assigned.
**Requirements**:
- PhD degree in a chemistry-related program with at least 5 years of work experience.
- MSc degree in chemistry-related program will be considered with at least 12 years of work experience.
- Extensive experience in analytical chemistry.
- Extensive experience with method development and method validation in a GMP or ISO17025 setting.
- Experience with operating, and method development using, at least 3 of the following equipment: HPLC-UV, LC-MS/MS, HS-GC/MS-FID, GC-MS/MS, IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, FTIR.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position (PHIA/privacy policies).
- Must successfully complete WHMIS training.
- A criminal record check will be performed and certain offenses are disqualifiers.
**Compensation**
- Full-time position.
