Director of Promotions

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & PROMOTIONS (This would be total salary for both locations, some expenses can be paid for, bonus option, room for additional amount)
The Director of Marketing & Promotions is responsible for all event planning and advertising, graphic design, social media, and
entertainment coordination for the business. Both at Taphouse Guildford and Taphouse Coquitlam.
Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Marketing & Promotions must remain up-to-date on all business endeavours,
both ongoing, and future. Staying budget-conscious, and tracking the progression of sales is key to success in this position.
Any branding, advertising, and promotions must align with Taphouse’s intentions and target demographic. Taphouse Guildford
and Taphouse Coquitlam have different targets and it’s crucial to adapt accordingly.
The Director of Marketing & Promotions is someone creative, innovative, solution-oriented, and able to work without supervision
to accomplish tasks.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Deciding themes, parties, and interactive experiences for guests
- Ordering the necessary materials, prizes, and decorations for events
- Booking entertainment in advance, such as live bands, DJs, MCs, musicians, etc. and ensuring the entities align with the
event’s target audience and atmosphere
- Notifying staff and management of all event components and advertisements (i.e. social media, in-house posters,
- Setting up, hosting, and debriefing after events
Advertising & Graphic Design
- Designing advertisements that can become in-house posters, table tents, in-house TV Ads, social media ads for
Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok
- All advertisement will pertain, but not limited to: Sports, Food, Drinks, Nightlife, Events, Birthday packages,
Fundraisers, Buffets
- Social media advertisements will be on Facebook, Tikok, and Instagram. The Director of Marketing & Promotions will also
respond to guest inquiries, ensure links to ticketed events are functional, and tag/collaborate with the appropriate
partners
- Advertising will also be conducted via MailChimp and with flyer delivery
- Coordinate with website technician to have advertisements up-to-date, and old advertisements removed after the
event has ended
- Ensuring ad spending is calculated and tracked, as to avoid unnecessary expenses
Photography & Videography
- The Director of Marketing & Promotions will either conduct said media acquisition themselves, or hire and manage the
necessary professional to a) gather content necessary for ongoing and future advertising, and b) ensure the quality of
the content is superb
- Weekly on Instagram, an album of photos of guests from the previous weekend’s events should be posted. Pictures only
of guests for this weekly post. No food, drinks or staff.
AV, Lighting & Sound
- Setting up, coordinating and booking technicians necessary for all lighting and sound systems when needed.
- Checking lighting and sound equipment at both locations weekly
- Training management on how to control and display TV advertisements, as restaurant and nightlife ads will be different
Guestlist, Party Bookings, Loyalty Programs
- Forwarding parties booked through the portal to management of the assigned location
- Parties can include but are not limited to: Birthdays, Stagettes, Holiday parties, Sports team celebrations, Company
events etc.
- Ensuring guests are aware of guestlist policy (No Guestlist Fridays at Coquitlam)
- Coordinating with management to develop loyalty programs for returning guests, as well as VIP programs for regular nightlife guests
