**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Responsible to work collaboratively with team members, campus and community partners, the Residence Case Manager provides responsive wellness and mental health support to the residence community. This is completed through the management of complex and critical student needs and where risk is present because of psychosocial issues. The incumbent ensures that the safety of the residence community is maintained through the effective and efficient coordination of both on and off campus resources necessary to provide crisis support and to diffuse critical emergencies. The incumbent advocates for the importance of a holistic student experience: where both inside and outside the classroom experiences shape student
learning. The position also participates in the after-hours Manager On-Call rotation.

As a member of the Residence Life Services Team, the Residence Case Manager contributes to the development and implementation of new student support programs and educational initiatives, working collaboratively with campus partners to promote initiatives that increase mental health support for students living in residence. The Case Manager will evaluate existing processes, programs, and services as part of the continuous improvement of student support within the residence community.

**Qualifications**:
**The incumbent must possess the following qualifications**:
? Knowledge of student care and support program design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices

? Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
? Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity
? Must also demonstrate a sound understanding of the philosophy and operations of a residence community within a university setting
? Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, mediation, crisis management and communications (written, oral and presentation) skills and a good working knowledge of group dynamics
? Must demonstrate experience with supervision, leadership, team management and conflict management skills.
? Must possess administrative office experience with the ability to multi-task with a demanding workload and to work creatively and independently employing good organizational skills
? Expected to show a strong presence to the students and staff and to be visible at the various events, and in the dining hall and residence buildings. This is in order to foster connection with students in the residence community
? Must be able to work effectively independently, as well as part of a team in the response and resolution to issues within the residence community
? Must be able to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and balancing deadlines
? Must possess high energy and the proven ability to motivate others
? Upon selection, the new hire will be required to obtain a Police and Criminal Records Check, including vulnerable sector, as a pre-condition of employment

**Education and Experience**:
**The above is normally acquired through**:
? The completion of bachelors’ degree in related field such as psychology, social work, education, health care, behavioural sciences, or Student Affairs.
? Knowledge or Certificate in Mental Health First Aid, or Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) will be preferred.
? Must have a minimum of three years of recent community living experience, in a leadership position with progressive administrative and supervisory experience.
? The incumbent must have three years’ experience providing support to individuals in distress and managing crisis situations as well as participating in on-call rotations

Equivalencies will be considered. Applicants are encouraged to provide information which may demonstrate equivalent qualifications. Please note that applicants may be required to complete an employment test as part of the selection process for this position.
