The Director, HR provides strategic leadership for the City's HR, Labour Relations & OH&S functions. The role leads labour relations, collective bargaining, workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, compensation, policy development & OH&S programs. As the City's senior HR advisor, the Director provides strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team, supports positive labour-management relationships & ensures HR practices align with organizational priorities, legislation & operational needs. Key Accountabilities Lead labour relations, collective bargaining, grievances, arbitration & agreement interpretation. Develop & implement HR strategies aligned with City priorities. Provide strategic advice on workforce, organizational & risk management matters. Lead workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development & employee engagement initiatives. Ensure compliant, consistent HR policies, programs & practices. Oversee HR, OH&S, compensation & benefits. Lead organizational change, transformation & continuous improvement initiatives. Manage HR budgets, resources, contracts, & external service providers. Promote leadership accountability & consistent people management practices. Qualifications Degree in HR, Industrial Relations, or related field. CPHR designation. Min 10 yrs of progressive HR experience, incl senior leadership & labour relations in a unionized environment. Proven experience in collective bargaining, grievance management, mediation, arbitration & workforce planning. Strong knowledge of employment legislation, labour relations, human rights & OH&S. Experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders & leading organizational change. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, relationship-building & problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to lead HR operations, manage risk, budgets, policies, & teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
