Under the direction of the Senior Manager, School Operations, the Facility Manager will oversee the activities of all custodians and part-time staff in the Board's facilities, to provide a clean, safe environment for students, teachers and the public. The Facility Manager will inspect school buildings and grounds to ensure Board standards are being adhered to. The Facility Manager will prepare permits for after-hours school use; A diploma from a community college in a related field is preferred.
§ Knowledge of school board policies and procedures.
§ Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Building Code, Ontario
Fire Code, Electrical Safety Code and other relevant codes and standards.
§ Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills; Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite, including e-mail, spreadsheets, databases, project management,
presentation packages, eBase and other appropriate software packages).
§ Procurement knowledge with respect to Broader Public Sector Guidelines would be an asset.
§ People management experience within a unionized environment would be an asset.
§ Project Management experience pertaining to Building Condition Improvement Projects would be an asset.
§ Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
