What is the Opportunity?
CanAtom, a joint venture between AtkinsRéalis and Aecon, is delivering the Pickering NuclearGenerating Station Refurbishment Project under a collaborative contract with Ontario PowerGeneration. The joint venture is underway to complete the retube, feeder, and boiler replacement(RFBR) of Units 5–8. Building on the successful delivery of the Darlington Refurbishment Project, theCanAtom team brings proven experience in safely executing complex nuclear projects on time and onbudget to support Ontario’s clean energy future.
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor reports to the EHS Director through the Departmental Lead(s) and is responsible to provide health and safety advice and assistance to the projects Line Supervisors. The EHS Advisor will audit the Project EHS Programs and work with the lineorganization to develop corrective actions with the goal of continuously improving health and safety inthe workplace.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
- Support project specific conventional safety and environmental management plans and procedures including inspections, observation and coaching, WTCs and JHSCs.
- Train project staff on the requirements of conventional safety procedures; Hot Work, Working at Heights, Dropped Object Prevention, Confined Spaces, Working on or around Electrical Equipment, Ergonomics, etc.must be met for employment.
- Track and report safety-related statistics, help manage Return to Work and review Modified duties cases at the field level.
