We are looking for Audio engineers to join one of our audio annotation projects that will be running on our site in Mississauga for 1 month with a high probability to extend for a longer time if the quality of the work meets the client's requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Listen to audio files between 1 second and 2 minutes in length (average ~30 seconds).
  • Segment audio files into events of interest upon the sound characteristics using spectrogram and high & low pass filters.
  • Label the events of interest “sounds” determined in the audio files using a predefined list of labels set by the client.
  • Uploaded files will be distributed according to the project timeline which is initially to be one month and the daily target should be met by the participants.
  • Follow client guidelines and updates to meet 100% quality targets.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in audio engineering, music production, sound engineering, sound design, sound mixing, or a related field with a strong foundation in audio engineering principles OR advanced/post-graduate experience in acoustic phonetics or speech pathology.
  • Ability to interpret spectrograms and identify and analyze various audio characteristics, including frequency content and noise.
  • Experience working with recording application software, such as Audacity.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to work part-time “4 hours” per day, 5 days per week.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organizational skills and detail-oriented mentality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
